2010 Winter Blast Retreat,  January 15-17

This year the SBC youth returned to Camp Orchard Hill for a weekend full of God centered music, fellowship and good ole fashion fun. Yes, they even managed to duct tape one of their leaders to the wall! The entire weekend focused on being influential (a thermostat) in today's world rather than being influenced (a thermometer) buy the culture that we live in. This has proven to be one of the best weekends for the entire student ministry. Lots of new decisions were made for God's glory and each student went home with a better understanding of how to live out the Christian life. And yes the duct taped leader survived!

Student Ministries at Springfield Baptist is made up of 6th through 12th grade
students from all over Delaware County. SSM currently draws students from the
following schools and districts: Springfield, Upper Darby, Haverford, Academy
Park, Marple/Newtown, Ridley Park, Prendie, Interboro, and Lower Merion.

Every Sunday night from 6 to 8pm, students meet for the B.L.A.S.T.
(Big Loud Awesome Spiritual Thing) Students from all ages and grades are
welcome for a time of games, Praise & Worship, a Lesson and just some time
to hang out in the Outreach Center.

Student Ministries also meets every Sunday morning for L.A.U.N.C.H.
(Learning And Understanding New Christ-like Habits) The group meets at 9:30am
during Sunday School. During this time students begin to answer questions about
who God is and how they can have a personal relationship with their Lord and
Savior. We are currently studying the Character of God and how He has been
constantly involved in His creation.

Every month SBC Student Ministries has an event or outing to simply enjoy
some time together. These events can range from roller skating to week long
retreats. These times are designed to build fellowship among the body of Christ
and to reach out to the world with God's amazing grace and love. Anyone in
6th-12th grade is welcome to join these events.

For more information about SBC Student Ministries, or if you would like
to join us for a fun filled time, please call the church office (610-543-8879).
