Our Beliefs

THE BIBLE

We believe the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are the only Holy Scriptures, verbally and fully inspired of God, without error in the original writings, and that they are the supreme and final authority of faith, conduct and spirituality. [Ex.20; Ps.19:7-21; Mt.5:17-18; 22:37-40; Luke 24:44-45; John 17:17; Acts.1:16; Ro.15:4; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:20-21].

GOD

We believe in one God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that these are equal in every divine perfection and that they execute distinct but harmonious roles in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. [Gen.1:1; Deut.6:4; Ps.65:9-13; 90:2; Isa.42:8; 43:11; 44:6; Mt.28:19; Jn.14:16; 2 Cor.13:14; 1 Tim.1:17; 2:5]

GOD THE FATHER

We believe in God the Father, Who is infinite, unchanging, a personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of mankind, that He hears and answers prayer according to His will, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. [1 Sam.15:29; Ez.9:15; Ps.65:5; 90:2; 103:8; 139:7-12; Hab.1:12; Mal.3:6; Jn.17; Eph.1:3-6; 3:14-19; 1 Pet.1:15-16; 1 Jn.1:9; 4:8-16]

GOD THE SON, JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. We believe in His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement for sin by His death on the cross providing the only way of salvation. We believe in His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His priestly intercession on behalf of his people, and his personal, visible return for his church. [Mt.1:18; 16:16,17; 20:28; 28:18; Mk.16:5-7; Jn.1:1, 3, 14, 18; 5:23-24; 10:30,38; Ac.1:9-11; Rom.3:25; 2 Cor.5:18-21; Phil..2:5-11; Heb.1:1-6; 9:15; 13:8; 1 Pet.1:18-19; Rev.1:17-18]

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that God, the Holy Spirit is a person. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgement, and draws mankind to personal faith in Christ. At salvation, He imparts new life, baptizes into the body of Christ, and eternally indwells the believer. We believe that the Holy Spirit guides, teaches, sanctifies, empowers and gives spiritual gifts to the believer [Jn.3:5-8; 14:16-17; 16:7-13; Acts 15:28; Rom.8:9, 11, 26; 1 Cor.2:9-14; 6:19; Eph.1:13-14; 5:18; Gal.5:22-23; Tit.3:5]

MANKIND

We believe God created mankind, male and female, in the image of God and free from sin. We believe that in disobedience, mankind chose to sin against God and fell from grace, became a sinner by choice and is therefore, by nature, spiritually dead and in need of salvation. Gen.1:26-27; Ps.14; Isa.53:6; Jer.17:9-10; Mt.19:4; Rom.3:9-10, 22-23; 5:16; 6:23; 5:12-21]

SALVATION

We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We further believe that salvation is based only upon the sovereign grace of God, purchased by Christ on the cross, and is received by mankind through faith, apart from any human merit, works, or ritual. We believe this new life in Christ results in righteous living, good works, and biblical social concern. [Jn.1:10-12; 3:16-18; Ac.4:12; Rom. 5:17-18; 10:9-10; Gal.1:8-9; Eph.2:4-6, 8-10; Heb.11:6; I Pet.1:3-9]

THE CHURCH

We believe that the Church is the spiritual body of which Christ is the head. We believe that the true Church is composed of all persons who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit through saving faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that this body expresses itself in local assemblies whose members have been baptized upon a confession of faith and have associated themselves for worship, for instruction, for evangelism, and for service. We believe the ordinances of the local church are Believer’s Baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. We also believe in the fellowship of local churches and the mutual submission of believers to each other in love. [Mt.16:16-18; 28:18-20; Rom.6:1-7; 1 Cor.11:23-30; Eph.2:19-22; 4:11-12]

SATAN

We believe that Satan is a personal spirit, not divine, created as a holy angel, who rebelled in pride and ambition and is now the great enemy of God and His saints. His destiny is eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire. [Job.1:6; 2:1; Isa.14:12-14; Eze.28:11-19; Mt.4:1-11; 2 Cor.4:4; 11:13-15; Eph.2:2; 2 Tim.2:26; Heb.2:14; Ja.4:7; 1 Pet.5:8-9; Rev.12:9; 20:10]

THE LAST THINGS

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to this earth when He will sit upon the throne of His glory, judge the nations, and reign in righteousness and peace. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost, the saved to eternal reward in the new heaven and earth, and the unsaved to eternal punishment in hell. The saved will forever be in His presence and enjoy His fellowship. [Job.19:25-27; Prov.14:32; Mt.24; 25:34-46; Lk,16:19-26; Jn.5:28-29; 8:21-24; 14:2-3; Rom.6:23; 1 Thess.4:13-5:11; Tit.2:13,14; Rev.19:11-20:15; 21:1-4, 27]
